An Albion woman was arrested Wednesday night following a single-vehicle crash in Gibson County, Indiana.
According to the Gibson County Sheriff’s Office, Central Dispatch received a 911 call at 8:22 p.m. reporting an injury crash on State Road 65 near Mill Street in Owensville. While deputies were en route, dispatch advised that the driver was possibly intoxicated.
Deputies arrived and began investigating the crash, interviewing witnesses and emergency responders at the scene.
During the investigation, a Gibson County Indiana Deputy made contact with 25-year-old Jaxyn Newkirk of Albion and observed multiple signs indicating she was under the influence. A roadside DUI investigation was conducted, which resulted in Newkirk’s arrest.
She was transported to the Gibson County Detention Center, where she was charged with Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated.
The crash remains under investigation by the Gibson County Sheriff’s Office.
