The Fairfield Community High School Board of Education approved a curriculum purchase and several personnel actions during a special meeting Wednesday evening.
Board members first voted 4-0 to add the purchase of Cengage Math Curriculum to the agenda. Following the addition, the board unanimously approved purchasing the curriculum at a cost of $10,383.95. School officials said the item had been discussed at a previous meeting when science and social studies curriculum purchases were approved, but the final cost had not been received from the company before that meeting’s agenda was posted.
Following an executive session to discuss personnel matters, the board unanimously approved several employment actions.
The board accepted the resignation of Instructional Aide McKenzie Henry.
Board members approved the employment of Sydney Lucas as a social worker and approved Ashley Rutherford’s change in employment from instructional aide to a full-time special education teacher.
The board also approved Cassy Fuller as the Be The Change sponsor and voted to add a second Student Council sponsor by splitting the district stipend between Rhiannon Bridgeman and Shelby Benskin.
In addition, Sandra Stence was approved for employment as an instructional aide.
Each personnel action passed on a 4-0 vote.
Board members attending the meeting were Steve Baker, Eddie Barbre, Matt Rush, and Derek Smothers. Board members Nate Carter, Lori Ellis, and Kim King were absent.
