Fairgoers will have more affordable food options than ever during the 2026 Illinois State Fair thanks to two new promotions aimed at helping visitors enjoy the fair without breaking the budget.
The $5 Fix promotion will be available all day, every day in the Reisch Pavilion, where participating food vendors will offer a menu item for just $5. Organizers say the promotion includes everything from corn fritters to dessert pizza, giving visitors a variety of affordable choices.
Illinois Department of Agriculture Director Jerry Costello II said the promotions reflect Governor JB Pritzker’s goal of keeping the Illinois State Fair affordable for families.
In the Village of Cultures, visitors can also take advantage of Small Plates, Big Tastes, featuring sample-sized portions of a variety of international foods for $3 each. The promotion is designed to encourage fairgoers to try new cuisines while supporting local vendors.
Illinois State Fair Manager Rebecca Clark said the smaller portions provide an affordable way for families and friends to sample different foods and discover new favorites.
The 2026 Illinois State Fair will feature more than 120 food vendors, including several new additions such as Backdraft BBQ, Erma’s Cinnamon Rolls, Tikka Street, Ben’s Soft Pretzels, and Five Star Pickles & Sausages.
The Illinois State Fair runs August 13-23 in Springfield.
