WAYNE COUNTY PROPERTY TAX BILLS MAILED; FIRST INSTALLMENT DUE SEPTEMBER 4TH

Wayne County Treasurer Yvette Anderson announced that 2025 payable 2026 property tax bills were recently mailed to taxpayers.

The first installment is due Friday, September 4th while the second installment is due Friday, October 16th.
Tax payments may be made in person at the Wayne County Treasurer’s Office Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., placed in the payment drop box on the west side of the courthouse, or paid online at www.waynecountyiltax.com.

Payments are also accepted at Fairfield National Bank in Fairfield, Bean Capital Banking in Wayne City, Peoples National Bank in Fairfield, Fairfield Banking Company in Fairfield, Trust Bank in Cisne, and Citizens National Bank in Mt. Erie.

Treasurer Anderson encourages property owners to carefully review their tax bills to ensure they are receiving all eligible exemptions. Taxpayers should also review the information on the back of the bill for payment options, a directory of contacts for tax-related questions, and information on enrolling in the county’s pre-payment plan.

The total property tax levy to be collected in Wayne County this year is $24,917,674.45.
