TEAM MARION CAPTURES 2026 COLT WORLD SERIES CHAMPIONSHIP:
Team Marion is once again on top of the COLT Baseball world after capturing the 2026 COLT World Series championship Tuesday night. Marion defeated Team Bronx, New York, 12-3, in the championship game at Mountain Dew Park, securing the program’s fourth COLT World Series title. Playing in front of a hometown crowd, Marion completed an impressive tournament run that included victories over teams from Youngstown, Ohio; Harlingen, Texas; and Tijuana, Mexico, before facing Bronx for the championship. The victory capped off an unbeaten run through the tournament and added another world championship to Marion’s COLT Baseball history.
OWENSBORO LITTLE LEAGUE SOFTBALL TEAM REMAINS UNBEATEN AT WORLD SERIES:
The Little League Softball team from Owensboro, Kentucky, remains unbeaten at the Little League Softball World Series in Greenville, North Carolina. Owensboro has opened tournament play with a 3-0 record, including an 11-1 victory Sunday and a 15-1 win Monday. The Kentucky squad continued its strong run Thursday, picking up a 2-0 victory to remain perfect in World Series play. Owensboro will return to action Saturday in the Orange Bracket Championship, with a chance to continue its unbeaten run and advance deeper into the tournament.
