A Fairfield man was taken into custody following an investigation by the Fairfield City Police Department into multiple alleged sex offenses involving a child.
Charles E. Hughett, 28, of Fairfield, was arrested and booked into the Wayne County Jail Thursday afternoon.
Hughett was held on allegations of child pornography, grooming, distribution of child pornography, sexual exploitation of a child, and aggravated assault.
A court hearing was scheduled to determine whether he will be released under Illinois’ pretrial release law.
