38 SPECIAL TO HEADLINE FREE ILLINOIS STATE FAIR GRANDSTAND CONCERT

Southern rock band 38 Special will headline a free concert at the Illinois State Fair Grandstand on Monday, August 17th with Warrant opening the show.

The concert is part of the fair’s effort to provide more affordable entertainment for families. No concert ticket will be required, although attendees must pass through security before entering the Grandstand. Gates open at 7 p.m.

38 Special has sold more than 20 million albums during its five-decade career and is known for hits including “Hold On Loosely,” “Caught Up in You,” “Rockin’ Into the Night,” “If I’d Been the One” and “Second Chance.”

Fair admission on August 17th will be $5 for the general public, while senior citizens and scouts in uniform will be admitted free. Children ages 12 and younger receive free admission every day of the fair.

Discounted food options will also be available throughout the fairgrounds, including specials in the Reisch Pavilion and Village of Cultures.
