Taylor Farms has recalled a variety of prepared foods, including salsa, guacamole and other products containing jalapeños, because of possible salmonella contamination.
The recalled items were sold at Walmart, Kroger, Whole Foods and other retailers in about 20 states.
The recall follows a supplier’s recall of jalapeños linked to a salmonella outbreak that has sickened more than 300 people nationwide. Taylor Farms said it is not aware of any illnesses connected to its recalled products.
The announcement comes as the company is also dealing with a separate cyclospora outbreak linked to recalled iceberg lettuce, which has affected lettuce sales and restaurant traffic.
Consumers are urged to check recalled products and discard them or return them to the place of purchase.
