The Edwards County Community Unit School District #1 Board of Education will hold its regular meeting Monday, August 17, at 7 p.m. in the West Salem Grade School Science Room.
Among the items on the agenda is discussion and possible action on installing lights at the West Salem Grade School softball field. The board will also review the district’s tentative Fiscal Year 2027 budget and consider setting a budget hearing.
Other business includes consideration of a donation of more than $500, approval of the Edwards County High School Pink Out donation to the Wabash General Hospital Oncology Department and a resolution involving the permanent transfer of funds from Working Cash to the Operations, Building and Maintenance Fund.
Superintendent David Cowger is scheduled to provide updates on district enrollment, the vocational project, sales tax and the 2027 school board elections. Building administrators will also present reports.
Personnel matters include an ECHS assistant baseball coach resignation, employment of a cafeteria worker, a West Salem softball volunteer assistant and a leave of absence.
Following a possible closed session, the board is also scheduled to consider approval of a Health Insurance Benefit Memorandum of Agreement with the ECTA and ECSPA.
