Five area Elks lodges are partnering with the Illinois Elks Children’s Care Corporation to offer a free children’s orthopedic assessment clinic on Thursday, September 10th in Mount Vernon.
The clinic, sponsored by the Mount Vernon, Centralia, Fairfield, Salem and McLeansboro Elks lodges, will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Neuromuscular Orthopaedic Institute of Dr. Alan Froehling, located at 302 Broadway Street in Mount Vernon.
The clinic is by appointment only. To schedule an appointment, families should call the Illinois Elks Children’s Care Office at 1-800-272-0074 between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.
There is no charge for any services provided during the clinic.
No physician referral is required, although doctors are welcome to refer patients for a specific concern or a second opinion. School nurses may also refer children and families.
Organizers say the clinic provides an excellent opportunity for children to have their bone and joint development evaluated by an orthopedic specialist.
