The Cardinals and Reds split their doubleheader in Cincinnati. St. Louis opened the day with a 2-1 victory. Luis Gastelum was credited with the win after striking out two batters in his relief appearance. Cincinnati bounced back in the second game after walking off with a 6-5 win in 10 innings. The series resumes tonight.

Pete Crow-Armstrong belted a walk-off, two-run homer in the bottom of the 10th to lift the Cubs past the rival White Sox 7-5 at Wrigley Field. Nico Hoerner tied the game with an RBI-single in the ninth for the Northsiders, who snapped a two-game skid. Crow-Armstrong also had a solo shot to lead off the first inning. Andrew Benintendi hit a go-ahead, two-run homer in the eighth for the Southsiders, who had won their previous three. The series continues tonight.

(Indianapolis, IN) — The Colts are adding a veteran to their receiving corps. According to Jordan Schultz, Indianapolis is signing wide receiver Keenan Allen to a one-year contract. The deal is worth up to just over 8.3-million-dollars. The six-time Pro Bowler caught 81 passes for 777 yards and four touchdowns for the Los Angeles Chargers last season. He ranks 13th in NFL history with 1,055 career catches.

(Owings Mills, MD) — The Ravens are mourning the loss of a former Super Bowl champion. OJ Brigance died on Monday. He was 56. Brigance won a Super Bowl as a linebacker with the Ravens in 2000, and served as an inspiration to the organization since being diagnosed with ALS 19 years ago. With the help of his wife, Chanda, they established the Brigance Brigade Foundation, which raised millions to “equip, encourage and empower” those with ALS.

(Los Angeles, CA) — Jeanie Buss’ attorney says not so fast to claims that the Buss family is selling its remaining 17.8-percent stake in the Los Angeles Lakers to the new majority owners. The LA Times reports Buss, the team’s governor, put out a statement through her attorney saying any family vote to sell their shares is invalid without approval from the current trustees, Jeanie, Janie and Joey Buss. Disney CEO Bob Iger and venture capitalist Josh Kushner have already agreed to buy Mark Walter’s controlling stake in the Lakers, valuing the team at a record 12-point-5 billion dollars.

(Inglewood, CA) — The NBA’s investigation into alleged salary cap circumvention by the Los Angeles Clippers appears to be winding down. ESPN reports the league found no evidence that Clippers owner Steve Ballmer funneled money to forward Kawhi Leonard through defunct green banking company Aspiration through a “no show” promotional job. However, NBA spokesman Mike Bass said the report by ESPN contains significant inaccuracies and the results will be made clear once the investigation has ended.
