A driver was cited after a vehicle struck a pedestrian in a wheelchair at a Mt. Vernon intersection Friday evening.
Illinois State Police responded around 6:06 p.m. Friday to the intersection of Broadway and 42nd streets.
ISP says a vehicle was attempting to turn left from northbound 42nd Street onto eastbound Broadway when it struck a pedestrian in a wheelchair who was entering the intersection.
The pedestrian was taken to an area hospital for treatment. The extent of the injuries was not released.
The driver was cited for failure to yield at a crosswalk. No additional information has been released.
