COOLER, LESS HUMID WEATHER ARRIVES BEFORE HEAT WAVE NEXT WEEK

By Mark Wells Aug 27, 2026 | 5:55 AM

The National Weather Service in Paducah says a cold front moving through the region this morning will bring slightly cooler and less humid conditions over the next several days.

Northerly winds will help reduce moisture levels, with mostly sunny skies expected through Saturday. High temperatures are forecast to remain in the mid to upper 80s through the end of the week.

Conditions will begin changing by late in the weekend as an area of high pressure moves east from the Rockies. Temperatures are expected to climb back into the 90s Sunday, followed by highs in the mid-90s for much of next week.

Forecasters say heat impacts could become more noticeable by Tuesday and Wednesday as the late-season heat wave strengthens across the region.

The weather pattern is also expected to remain mostly dry for approximately the next week.

The National Weather Service says confidence is increasing that the region will experience impacts from the prolonged heat next week.
