A verbal threat made by a student at Woodlawn Grade School prompted an investigation by school officials and local law enforcement Wednesday.
Woodlawn Unit School District officials said administrators were alerted to the threat earlier in the day. The district’s Threat Assessment Team and law enforcement immediately began investigating.
School officials said the situation has since been resolved and appropriate disciplinary and safety measures have been implemented. Law enforcement was involved throughout the response and documented the incident.
No details about the student or the nature of the threat were released due to state and federal student privacy laws.
District officials said any additional information that can legally be released and that families need to know will be provided by school staff. Parents were also asked to check their email for a message from the district.
