The Mules and Lady Mules Golfers were in action Monday at the McLeansboro Golf Club. The Mules Boys golfers finished 2nd with a score of 170 behind Mt. Carmel with a score of 157. Notable scores for the Mules were River Wise-3rd with a 39, Cruz Wells-5th with a 41, Andrew Hutcheson and Alex Fry-10th with a 45, and Lane Witucki-19th with a 49. The Lady Mules finished 4th with Benton finishing 1st. Notable scores for the Lady Mules were Amelia Hopfinger-8th with a 52, Carly Colclasure-14th with a 58, Sloan Austin-16th with a 62, and Nora Oliver-17th with a 64.

Porter Jr. is entering the final year of his rookie deal. Pittsburgh opens the season against the Atlanta Falcons on September 13th.

(Florham Park, NJ) — The Jets have settled on a backup quarterback. Head coach Aaron Glenn announced Monday that rookie Cade Klubnik will begin the season as the number two signal caller. Klubnik is the only backup on the roster after Bailey Zappe was released on the final day of roster cuts. Geno Smith will start the season opener against the Tennessee Titans on September 13th.

(Castle Rock, CO) — Broncos linebacker Jonathan Cooper is pleading not guilty to domestic violence charges related to two June arrests. Cooper faces a felony assault charge, accused of strangling his then-girlfriend, along with four misdemeanors. A judge scheduled a three-day trial beginning November 10th. Cooper is on the commissioner’s exempt list, meaning he cannot practice or play with the Broncos, but gets paid and can use team facilities.

Fans were allowed to bring in more water than usual while cooling stations were set up in the shaded portions of the LA Coliseum.

The 39-year-old announced on social media that he is retiring from Argentina’s national team after 20 years, calling it a decision that “hurt” but one he was ready to make. Messi scored more goals and appeared in more international games than anyone in his country’s history. He played in six World Cups, winning in 2022 before falling in the final to Spain last month.
