A handmade patriotic quilt will be given away during the 37th Annual Bean Day Quilt Show in Wayne City on Saturday, September 26TH.
The full-sized quilt, titled “Patriotic Floral Stars,” was created by members of the PieceMakers Quilt Guild of Wayne City. Guild member Barb Voyles machine-pieced the top using star-patterned fabric along with dark red, cream and navy colors in recognition of America’s 250th anniversary. Guild members then hand-quilted the piece.
All of the fabric used for the quilt came from material donated to the guild.
Proceeds from the giveaway and other PieceMakers quilting projects remain in the Wayne City community, helping residents with medical expenses and household disasters while also supporting scholarships and other local charitable causes.
The winning ticket will be drawn at 3 p.m. September 26 during the Bean Day Quilt Show.
The quilt is currently on display at Bean Capital Banking Center in Wayne City, where tickets are available for purchase.
