47 year old Fairfield resident, John Travis “J.T.” Berg passed away Sunday, August 30, 2026.
J.T. was born on February 7, 1979, in Evansville Indiana to John and Yvonne “Punky” (Shehorn) Berg. He graduated from FCHS with the class of 1997.
J.T. had previously owned and operated the Midway Package Store. He was a member of Fairfield Elks, Shriners, and Masonic Lodge. J.T. enjoyed spending his free time at the Fairfield Golf Course with his friends.
J.T. is survived by his 3 children; Cooper, Kennedy & Kirby Berg of Fairfield, Illinois. sister-in-law; Mandy Berg of Fairfield, Illinois, brother-in-law; Andy (Kim) Rodgers. 2 Nieces; Kate Carder of Clay City, Illinois, and Kristen Czyzewski of Mattoon, Illinois. 2 uncles; Roger (Claudea) Berg of Johnsonville, Illinois and Jim Molt of Henderson, Kentucky along with other cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Chance, and his Grandparents.
Graveside services for J.T. will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 5, 2026, at Maple Hill Cemetery in Fairfield, Illinois. Everyone is asked to go directly to the cemetery.
Memorials may be given to help assist the family with funeral expenses and will be accepted at Nale’s Funeral Home or at the graveside.
