A home north of Fairfield was destroyed after firefighters were called to the residence twice, including this (Wednesday) morning when the fire rekindled.
Fairfield Rural Fire Department was initially dispatched shortly after 3:30 p.m. Tuesday to the Janice Pollard residence at 1893 County Road 1035 North, off Enterprise Road.
According to Fairfield Rural Fire officials, something left on the stove caught fire and the flames spread into the attic.
Due to the extreme heat, mutual aid was requested from the Fairfield City, Albion and Cisne Fire Departments. Wayne County Ambulance personnel also assisted at the scene.
Fairfield Rural firefighters were called back to the residence around 2:28 a.m. this (Wednesday) morning after the fire rekindled. Fairfield City Fire Department and Wayne County Ambulance personnel once againĀ assisted during the second response.
