A fire Friday morning blamed on electrical issues damaged a home in Dix.
Media reports said smoke was observed from the attic of the home at 412 North Jackson when firefighters arrived on scene. The fire was contained to the attic, but crews did have to pull down the ceiling in one and a half rooms to reach it. There was no fire or smoke damage to the living area of the house, however there was water damage due to the fallen ceiling.
The fire call came in around 6 a.m. Friday. Firefighters remained on scene for about an hour and a half. The report said the Wayne City and Benton Fire Departments stood by at the Jefferson Fire Station in the event of another fire.
