Eldorado Unit 4 School District officials say a BB gun was secured at Eldorado Elementary School Friday after staff were alerted to a potential safety concern involving a student.
According to the district, staff immediately followed established safety and threat assessment procedures after learning of the situation, and the BB gun was quickly secured.
School officials emphasized that no threats were made toward students or staff during the incident and that everyone remained safe.
“Our safety procedures worked as intended, and all students and staff are safe,” the district said in a statement.
The district did not release additional information about the student involved or how the BB gun was brought onto school property.
Officials thanked staff members for their quick response and continued efforts to maintain a safe and secure learning environment.
