>>Slippery Conditions Suspends Volleyball Match At Wrigley Field
(Chicago, IL) — Slippery conditions are being blamed for suspending a volleyball match over the weekend at Wrigley Field. The match between Nebraska and Missouri on Sunday was suspended after hot and humid weather caused slick conditions on the court. The match was part of the Big Ten/SEC Volleyball Challenge Week. A decision on whether the event will be continued will be announced at a later date.
>>Report: Patriots Extend CB Christian Gonzalez
(Undated) — The Patriots locked up their franchise cornerback. According to ESPN, the Pats and Christian Gonzalez have agreed to terms on a four-year, 135-million-dollar extension. The deal includes 102-million-dollars guaranteed. New England selected Gonzalez with the 17th overall pick in the 2023 NFL draft. He was eligible for an extension for the first time this offseason. The 2026 regular season kicks off Wednesday night when the Seattle Seahawks host the Patriots in a Super Bowl 60 rematch.
>>Giants Release WR Darius Slayton
(East Rutherford, NJ) — The Giants are moving on from their longest tenured player. Big Blue released wide receiver Darius Slayton on Monday. Slayton was a fifth round pick of the G-Men in the 2018 draft. He caught 296 passes for over 44-hundred yards and 22 touchdowns across seven seasons. The decision creates just over three-million-dollars in cap space for this year. New York opens the season on Sunday Night Football when it hosts the Dallas Cowboys.
>>Titans’ Cedric Gray Suffers Concussion From UTV Accident
(Nashville, TN) — The Titans are hoping their top linebacker escaped a major injury over Labor Day weekend. Gray started almost every game last season and led the team in tackles with more than 160.

(Arlington, TX) — The Cowboys are dealing with a major issue to a key member of their offensive line as Week One approaches. The team placed Tyler Smith on injured reserve with a torn thumb ligament. >>Falcons’ QB Penix Admits He’s Not 100 Percent
(Flowery Branch, GA) — Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Penix Jr. says he’s not yet 100-percent recovered from a torn ACL. Speaking yesterday after Tua Tagovailoa was named the Week One starter, Penix said he wants to be stronger and have no doubt that his knee will hold up. The 26-year-old will be inactive for the Falcons when they visit the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday. Cooper Rush will be Tagovailoa’s backup.
>>Browns Coach Says Taylen Green Could Play
(Berea, OH) — The Browns could have a wrinkle in the playbook up their sleeve this season. Head coach Todd Monken said Monday that rookie quarterback Taylen Green could have a package of plays on game day to utilize his athleticism. Green broke the quarterback record at the scouting combine for both vertical and broad jump, and also ran the fastest 40-yard dash time for a QB since 2003. Cleveland opens the season when it visits the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday.
>>Colts’ WR Pierce To Play Week One
(Indianapolis, IN) — The Colts should have their top target available for the season opener. (Undated) — The Yankees are getting their star slugger back. The Pinstripes activated outfielder Aaron Judge from the injured list on Monday. Judge was hitting .248 with 17 home runs in 59 games before the injury.
>>Michigan Coach Lukewarm On Quarterback
(Ann Arbor, MI) — Bryce Underwood will continue as Michigan’s starting quarterback after struggling in the season opener. Head coach Kyle Whittingham said yesterday that the sophomore will be under center when the 16th-ranked Wolverines host number nine Oklahoma, but made it clear that Underwood must be better than he was this past Saturday versus Western Michigan. True freshman Tommy Carr, the grandson of former Michigan coach Lloyd Carr, would be first off the bench if Underwood’s struggles continue.
>>Defending Champs Lose RB Martin To Injury
(Bloomington, IN) — Indiana’s running back depth is taking a hit after beginning its national title defense with a big victory. He was expected to be part of a three-back rotation with Turbo Richard and Lee Beebe Jr., who got most of the carries on Saturday.
