A new family-owned frozen custard and food business is planned for Mount Vernon, with owners hoping to open next summer.
The Dairy Bell will be located at 2811 Veterans Memorial Drive and will feature frozen custard treats, quick food options and rotating weekly specials.
Owner Amanda Headen said the business will be operated by her family, including her parents and two daughters. Her father previously owned Sheridan Concrete in Mount Vernon for more than 30 years.
Plans call for both drive-through and walk-up service, with the family hoping to create a relaxed atmosphere focused on food and customer service.
The family announced the project Tuesday and said additional information will be released as construction plans move forward.
An exact opening date has not been set, but Headen said the goal is to have The Dairy Bell open by June 2027.
