Five defendants entered guilty pleas Thursday in Wayne County Circuit Court before Judge Matt Vaughn.
54-year-old David Branagin appeared by Zoom from Robinson Correctional Center and pleaded guilty to unlawful possession of methamphetamine, a Class 3 felony. Branagin was sentenced to two years in the Illinois Department of Corrections, concurrent with a sentence he is currently serving in a Fayette County case. He received credit for 60 days already served, while two additional counts were dismissed under the plea agreement.
39-year-old Kyle Butcher of Flora pleaded guilty to aggravated DUI and was sentenced to two years of probation and court costs. He was also sentenced to 180 days in the Wayne County Jail, with 60 days to be served immediately and the remaining 120 days stayed provided he complies with probation.
52-year-old Lige Cheek of Enfield pleaded guilty to domestic battery and received one year of probation and court costs. Cheek was ordered to have no contact with the female victim, who resides in Fairfield. He also received a 60-day stayed jail sentence that could be imposed if he violates probation.
63-year-old Jerry Mills of Fairfield pleaded guilty to public indecency and was placed on one year of court supervision. Mills was ordered to undergo a mental evaluation and file it with the court within six months. If treatment is recommended, he must complete it during the supervision period. One additional count was dismissed as part of the plea agreement.
39-year-old Samantha Webb of Centralia pleaded guilty to retail theft and received 12 months of court supervision. She was ordered to pay $170 in restitution to Walmart and prohibited from entering the Fairfield Walmart property.
