FAIRFIELD MEMORIAL HOSPITAL RECEIVES RURAL HEALTH GRANT FOR PORTABLE ULTRASOUND TECHNOLOGY

By Mark Wells Sep 11, 2026 | 11:59 AM

Fairfield Memorial Hospital has been selected as one of two recipients of Claritev’s 2026 Rural Health Grants.

The funding will help Fairfield Memorial Hospital bring portable ultrasound technology directly to patients’ bedsides. The equipment will give clinicians another tool to evaluate patients and make critical care decisions more quickly.

Claritev says the grant program is designed to address barriers faced by rural patients, who may otherwise have to travel long distances to access certain healthcare resources and technology.

The other 2026 grant recipient is Kodiak Community Health Center in Alaska, where funding will support access to medical specialists through the MAVEN Project.

Claritev has provided rural health grants since 1995 to support organizations working to improve access to healthcare in their communities.
