A Carmi man was arrested Thursday night on multiple charges involving the alleged solicitation of a child.
Forty-one-year-old Charlie Paul Goff of Seventh Street in Carmi was taken into custody shortly before 11 p.m. at the Wooly Wash laundromat.
Goff faces charges of solicitation to meet a child, indecent solicitation of a child, grooming and possession of cannabis in a vehicle.
Authorities say the arrest was the result of a joint operation involving the Carmi Police Department and Operation 17:2, a nonprofit organization focused on protecting vulnerable children.
Goff was transported to the White County Jail, where he remains pending a detention hearing in White County Circuit Court.
