The Wayne County Republican Party discussed upcoming Fall Fun Fest activities, election matters and a new precinct committeeperson during its September meeting.

Party officials reported that 87 raffle tickets were sold during the Cisne Reunion, an increase from last year.

The group also discussed plans for its booth at the Fairfield Fall Fun Fest. According to the meeting minutes, members plan to set up today (Wednesday) and operate the booth during the festival, with door-prize drawings Saturday evening and a raffle drawing scheduled for 8 p.m.

During the meeting, Louise Morlan was appointed precinct committeeperson for Grover Township.

The group also discussed changes to Wayne County polling locations following an accessibility review. According to the minutes, voters in Big Mound 1, Big Mound 2 and Lamard 2 are to be consolidated at the CP Church, with separate tables and election judges designated for each precinct.

The Wayne County Board separately approved the consolidation at its September 10 meeting, citing aging facilities and ADA compliance concerns. The county’s official website identifies Big Mound 1 and 2 and Lamard 2 as Wayne County precincts.

Party members were also encouraged to contact the Wayne County Clerk’s Office with names of anyone interested in serving as an election judge. The Clerk’s Office serves as Wayne County’s election authority.
