A Golconda man faces several charges following a fatal ATV crash in Pope County that claimed the life of a Harrisburg woman.
Illinois State Police say the crash happened September 12 on Waltersburg Road near Rock Road, where an ATV left the roadway.
The passenger, 20-year-old Abigail Moore of Harrisburg, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver, 28-year-old Trever Gallamore of Golconda, was transported to an area hospital and later taken into custody.
Following an investigation by Illinois State Police Division of Criminal Investigation Zone 7, the case was presented to the Pope County State’s Attorney’s Office on September 14.
Gallamore was charged with aggravated DUI, a Class 2 felony; reckless homicide, a Class 3 felony; illegal operation of an all-terrain vehicle; and improper lane usage.
Gallamore was initially held pending his first court appearance but was later released by the court while the case remains pending.
