Chris Forrest has been named the new head men’s basketball coach at Frontier Community College.
Forrest was hired Tuesday night during a meeting of the Illinois Eastern Community Colleges Board of Trustees.
Forrest comes to Frontier after spending the past four seasons at Missouri Baptist University, where he served as head junior varsity coach and graduate assistant. During his time with the Spartans, the program posted a 47-13 record in American Midwest Conference play and won two AMC regular-season championships and one conference tournament championship.
Forrest also helped coach 18 All-AMC selections, while 20 Missouri Baptist players earned Academic All-AMC recognition during his time on the staff.
Before joining Missouri Baptist, Forrest served as a head coach at Lutheran North High School and Tower Grove Christian. In three seasons at Lutheran North, his teams won three district championships and made sectional and quarterfinal appearances. Forrest also guided the program to a state runner-up finish and a school-best 26-7 record. He previously led Tower Grove Christian to two state runner-up finishes.
Forrest also brings playing experience to Fairfield. He played professionally for Charleroi Spirou in Belgium’s top basketball league. During his college career, Forrest scored more than 1,000 points, earned conference Newcomer of the Year honors, was a two-time all-conference selection and was part of a conference championship team.
