The Terrabis cannabis dispensary in Grayville has been approved to begin serving medical cannabis patients in addition to adult-use customers.
The Grayville location is among 37 existing Illinois dispensaries recently approved to serve both medical and recreational customers at the same location. Terrabis previously offered only adult-use cannabis.
The change was announced by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation as part of an effort to expand access for patients enrolled in the state’s medical cannabis program.
To qualify for the program, applicants generally must be Illinois residents with a qualifying medical condition and certification from a healthcare provider. Qualifying conditions include cancer, HIV/AIDS, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, ALS and osteoarthritis, among others.
Illinois currently has 288 adult-use cannabis dispensaries, including 178 opened through social equity lotteries. Another 68 conditional social equity licensees are working toward opening locations.
