The New Albion Arts Council is inviting young artists to display their work during the upcoming Edwards County Paint Out.
The youth art show will be held today (Monday) at the Edwards County Fairgrounds Exhibition Building.
Young artists may enter artwork in three age categories: 8 and under, ages 9 to 13, and ages 14 to 18. Organizers say participants may submit any type of artwork, including entries from the fair’s Floral Hall.
Artwork should be dropped off between 8 and 11 a.m. today with pickup scheduled for 8 p.m.
The event will also give young artists an opportunity to meet professional artists and see their work.
Cash prizes will be awarded in each age category, and all participating young artists will receive an art-themed goodie bag.
The New Albion Arts Council says the event is designed to celebrate art and creativity while encouraging the next generation of local artists.
