Megan Valentine will remain in custody while awaiting trial in connection with the death of her husband, former Edwards County Circuit Judge Michael Valentine.
During a court appearance Thursday in Williamson County, Valentine was denied pretrial release. The court found that she poses a real and present threat to the safety of the community.
Valentine is charged with murder in the death of her husband. Illinois State Police say Michael Valentine was found dead outside the couple’s home in Albion on Election Day in November 2024.
The case is being handled in Williamson County.
Valentine’s next court appearance is scheduled for November.
