The Illinois Department of Agriculture will hold an election October 28th to fill vacancies on the Illinois Wheat Development Board.
The election will select board members for Districts 3 and 6, along with one statewide at-large member.
District 6 includes Wayne, Clay, Edwards, Gallatin, Hamilton, Hardin, Johnson, Massac, Pope, Pulaski, Saline, Union, Wabash, White, Williamson and Alexander counties.
No formal petitions were filed for the vacant positions, meaning eligible Illinois wheat producers may participate as write-in candidates. Candidates must be of legal voting age, live within the district they seek to represent and be qualified wheat producers. At-large candidates may reside in any Wheat Development Board district.
In-person voting will be available at county Farm Bureau offices during normal business hours on October 28th.
Absentee ballots are available for producers unable to vote in person by contacting the Illinois Department of Agriculture at 217-524-1083.
For additional information, producers may contact IDOA or the Illinois Wheat Association at 309-557-3619.
