Transportation Service In Deadly Crash Not Registered In Illinois

(Belleville, IL) — Illinois officials say a transportation company involved in a deadly Metro East school van crash last month is not registered in the state. According to the Secretary of State’s Office, MVP Transportation isn’t registered as a school bus employer in Illinois, and the driver of the van that crashed in Cahokia Heights on September 23rd didn’t have the proper permit. One student was killed and several others were injured when a van heading to Belleville West High School went up a curb and slammed into a traffic light, causing a fire. Belleville Township High School District 201 says it terminated all transportation services with MVP following the crash.

 

Pritzker Breaks Ground On Hollywood River Studios in Wood River

(Wood River, IL) — Governor Pritzker is celebrating the construction of the new Hollywood River Studios in Wood River. Pritzker joined state officials to break ground on the Metro East’s new premier production facility. The studio will house six state-of-the-art sound stages. Illinois’ film industry continues to grow at a record pace, with film production expenditures reaching a record-breaking high of 703-million-dollars last year.

 

Former Bears Super Bowl Champ Otis Wilson Involved In Altercation At Soldier Field

(Chicago, IL) — An investigation is underway following an altercation involving former Bears Super Bowl champ Otis Wilson at Soldier Field. The incident reportedly happened after the Bears win over the Jets on Sunday. Wilson is accused of throwing a female security officer into a wall over a dispute about elevator usage. Wilson claims he was then assaulted by the two security contractors. The former linebacker and security officer were both sent to the hospital.
