An Olney man has been sentenced to 40 years in federal prison after pleading guilty to producing child sexual abuse material involving a 13-year-old victim.
George T. Grove, 49, of Olney, pleaded guilty to two counts of production of child pornography.
According to federal prosecutors, Grove admitted to using a cell phone to create two videos involving the 13-year-old victim in July 2024.
During the investigation, authorities also discovered evidence that Grove had exchanged alcohol, money and drugs with minors in return for nude photographs and sexual activity.
“Sex crimes are vile offenses. There is no amount of prison time sufficient for those who violate children,” U.S. Attorney Steven D. Weinhoeft said following the sentencing.
The Richland County Sheriff’s Office, Olney Police Department and Homeland Security Investigations participated in the investigation.
Assistant U.S. Attorney David Sanders prosecuted the case.
