The U.S. Postal Service will observe Columbus Day on Monday, October 12th, with all post office locations closed for the federal holiday.
There will be no regular mail delivery or retail services on Monday, with normal operations resuming Tuesday, October 13th.
Although post offices will be closed, customers can continue accessing several services online at USPS.com, including purchasing stamps, ordering free shipping supplies, requesting Hold Mail service, submitting address changes, renting or renewing post office boxes and printing prepaid shipping labels through Click-N-Ship.
Self-service kiosks will also remain available at select post office locations, with many accessible 24 hours a day. The kiosks allow customers to purchase postage, weigh and mail packages, and access package tracking information.
The Postal Service is also expanding self-service options at some locations, including package drop-off stations, QR code shipping label printing and USPS Smart Lockers for package pickup and drop-off.
