Extremely dry conditions are taking a toll on the lake at the Fairfield Golf Course, according to Fairfield Park Superintendent Chris Jenkins.
During last Thursday night’s Fairfield Park Board meeting, Jenkins reported that the lake’s water level has dropped significantly due to the lack of rainfall and the continued use of lake water to irrigate the golf course fairways.
In other business, Jenkins informed the board that additional bracing is needed to reinforce the structure at the Possum Trot shelter.
Jenkins also reported that filters at the Fairfield Swimming Pool need to be replaced. He recommended replacing half of the filters now and completing the remaining replacements next year.
The estimated cost of the filter replacement project is $9,600.
