The City of Fairfield and Wayne County Chamber of Commerce will present the annual Lighted Christmas Parade on Saturday, December 5th, beginning at 5 p.m.
This year’s parade theme is “Merry, Bright, and Grinchy.”
Entries are being accepted from individuals, businesses, organizations, churches and bands. There is no entry fee, and the deadline to submit an entry form is November 27th. Late entries will be placed at the end of the parade.
Prizes will include $100 for first place and $50 for second place in the individual category. Each participating marching band will receive $100, while business, organization and church entries will compete for first- and second-place trophies.
Parade rules state that no live Santas will be permitted. Candy may not be thrown from entries and must instead be handed out. Entries are limited to a maximum height of 14 feet, and animal entries will be placed at the end of the parade.
Completed entry forms may be returned to the Wayne County Chamber of Commerce at 121 East Main Street in Fairfield or submitted by email.
The rain date is December 12th, with any postponement announcement to be made through Facebook and WFIW.
