One person was injured Monday afternoon in a crash involving two tractor-trailer semis on U.S. Route 45 in northern Wayne County.
Illinois State Police Troop 9 and the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department responded at approximately 3:03 p.m. to U.S. 45 at 2250 North, just south of the Clay-Wayne County line.
According to the Illinois State Police, two truck-tractor semi-trailers were involved in the crash, with one of the semis overturning.
One person was transported to a local hospital with injuries.
U.S. 45 was closed while emergency crews worked at the scene and the crash was investigated. The roadway reopened at approximately 6 p.m.
