A combine was destroyed by fire Thursday afternoon in rural Wayne County.
According to the Xenia Fire Protection District, firefighters were dispatched at approximately 3:14 p.m. Thursday, October 22, to the area of County Road 2200 North and 540 East following a report of a combine on fire.
Upon arrival, firefighters found the combine fully engulfed in flames. The machine sustained extensive damage and was considered a total loss.
The Xenia Fire Protection District responded with seven firefighters, a pumper, brush truck, and tanker. Crews remained on the scene for just over an hour.
The name of the combine’s owner was not immediately available and nobody was injured. No cause of the fire was reported.
