Horizon Healthcare has once again earned national recognition for its efforts to help patients manage high blood pressure and reduce their risk of heart disease and stroke.
The healthcare organization recently received the Target: BP Silver+ Achievement Level recognition from the American Heart Association and the American Medical Association. The award recognizes healthcare organizations that demonstrate a commitment to improving blood pressure control through proven medical practices and patient care strategies.
High blood pressure, also known as hypertension, is a leading risk factor for heart disease and stroke. Through its participation in the Target: BP initiative, Horizon Healthcare works to improve blood pressure monitoring, provide timely treatment for patients with uncontrolled blood pressure, and encourage preventive healthcare practices.
The Silver+ Achievement Level recognizes the organization’s efforts to ensure accurate blood pressure measurements, identify patients who may need additional treatment, and implement strategies designed to improve cardiovascular health.
Horizon Healthcare Medical Director Dr. Marla Lafikes said receiving the recognition for another year reflects the dedication of the organization’s healthcare team.
“Receiving this recognition again is a testament to our team’s continued dedication to providing quality care and helping our patients take an active role in managing their blood pressure,” Lafikes said. “We are proud of the work our team does to support healthier lives and reduce the risks associated with high blood pressure.”
Horizon Healthcare officials say the continued recognition reinforces the organization’s commitment to preventive care and improving the long-term health of the patients and communities it serves.
