A Crossville man has been sentenced to 17 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections following a methamphetamine investigation in Wabash County.

Wabash County State’s Attorney Kelli Storckman announced Monday that 45-year-old Jonathan Acord of Crossville was sentenced by Circuit Judge William Hudson after being convicted of Methamphetamine Conspiracy, a Class X felony.

The conviction stems from an April 28 traffic stop in Mount Carmel, where Acord and a co-defendant were found in possession of nearly 100 grams of methamphetamine.

According to Storckman, an investigation conducted by a Wabash County Sheriff’s Deputy determined that Acord had conspired with others to purchase methamphetamine in Indiana and transport it into Illinois for distribution.

The investigation ultimately resulted in Acord’s felony conviction and subsequent prison sentence.

Acord will serve 17 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections.
