The Wayne City Christmas Parade will return Sunday, November 29th, with this year’s theme, “Light It Up! Deck It Out!” as organizers invite local businesses, organizations, families, and individuals to participate in the holiday celebration.
The parade is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. and will feature decorated floats, side-by-sides, ATVs, golf carts, horses, and other animals, all celebrating the Christmas season. Sponsored by Wayne City Matters, this year’s parade will feature several entry categories, with cash prizes awarded to participants.
The Christmas Magic Award will recognize the most magical, creative, and beautifully decorated Christmas float.
The Jingle Bell Rock Award will honor the most festive and creatively decorated side-by-side, while Santa’s Little Hot Rod Award will recognize the most fun and unique Christmas ATV.
Golf cart entries will compete for the North Pole Express Award, recognizing the cutest and most imaginative Christmas golf cart.
The Reindeer Games Award will recognize the most festive and adorable Christmas animal entry, including horses and other animals.
Organizers say cash prizes will be awarded to first, second, and third-place winners overall, with additional cash prizes available in each entry category.
Anyone interested in entering the parade is encouraged to contact Angela Hedden at 618-599-4522. Participants should provide their name, telephone number, and email address when registering.
