On Sunday Evening, Wayne County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a residence in rural southeastern Wayne County.
Upon arrival, around 918 pm, deputies began a search for an elderly man who had walked away from his residence. Deputies conducted a search of a nearby field but due to the height of the crops in the field, visibility was poor. A deputy deployed the Wayne County sheriff’s office drone with thermal capabilities and was able to locate the man lying in the field. The deputy operating, the drone was able to guide their deputies to the subject’s location. Deputies on foot then located the man who needed aid. It was extremely cold. Wayne County sheriff’s deputies were able to render aid and get the subject back to his residence.
The subject was transported by ambulance to Fairfield Memorial Hospital a short time later.
