A traffic accident that occurred Friday morning in Posey County, Indiana injured two people, including a Norris City man, and resulted in police finding several items consistent with methamphetamine in his vehicle.
Reports from Evansville say the crash occurred early Friday morning on Indiana Highway 62, where a car reportedly hit a semi head-on. Police identified the driver of the car as 36 year old Timothy Biggerstaff of Norris City. They said Biggerstaff’s vehicle crossed the centerline and hit the semi.
During an investigation police said they smelled an odor of marijuana on Biggerstaff, and a search of his vehicle resulted in the discovery of meth, THC edibiles, pipes, pills, marijuana and marijuana wax along with a semi-automatic rifle.
Biggerstaff and a passenger, 23 year old Alyssa Lovell of DuQuoin, Illinois were taken to a hospital for treatment of their injuries after the crash. Police said due to their injuries, charges against the two were pending. They did say that Biggerstaff agreed to a blood test. The crash occurred around 2 a.m. Friday. The driver of the semi was not identified and not hurt.
