The Driver’s License Facility will be back in Edwards County on January 3, 2024, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. thanks to Senator Terri Bryant. Earlier this month, WFIW News reported that the state was cutting back mobile drivers license facility operations to rural communities to twice a year.
As of Wednesday, the ILSOS DL facility will continue to be in Edwards County Courthouse the first Wednesday of every other month thereafter. The Driver’s license facility will continue to issue the Real ID, license plate stickers, address changes, name changes, and license renewals.
Officials say if numbers continue to decline, the facility will decrease to 2 times/year and possibly discontinue their satellite visits to Edwards County.
