The National Weather Service at Paducah has announced a few Severe Weather Storm Spotting Classes in our area.
The first class in the area is set for February 1st in Mount Carmel at the Mount Carmel Street Department. The street department is located at 604 East 5th street. The time of the class is set for 5 PM that evening.
The next area class is in Benton, IL on March 5th at the U of I Extension office at 1212 Ag Street in Benton. The time of that class is set for 6 PM.
The third and final class scheduled for the area will take place in Mount Vernon on Thursday, March 19th at 6:30 PM at the Mount Vernon Outland Airport.
The classes are free and open to anyone who has an interest in Severe Weather. Weather service officials say the class is about 2 hours in length.
Virtual classes are available January 23, February 22, and March 11.
