On Sunday at approximately 10:00am, Wayne County Sheriff’s Officials were called to respond to a rural residence in Keenes, Il. The caller advised they believed someone was being held inside a residence against her will by David L. Young and that Young was armed with a knife. Deputies immediately responded to the residence and were assisted by an Officer from the Fairfield Police Department and the Wayne City Police Department. On scene deputies made contact with the occupants through the door but Young refused to open the door and made threats to responding officers if they entered the residence. A female then began screaming for help inside the residence and deputies breached the door and observed Young holding a female by her foot and observed blood and Young holding a metal object. Deputies immediately deployed the Taser on Young and quickly took him into custody.
The female was treated at the scene by Wayne City Ambulance personnel and was released. The female stated that Young had held her captive since approximately 1:30am, and threatened her with knives, plyers, and a screwdriver. The victim stated Young believed she had some device imbedded in her foot and he was using these instruments to try and remove it. The victim stated Young threatened to kill her numerous times.
A search warrant was later executed on the residence and Deputies recovered methamphetamine and numerous instruments with blood on them.
David L. Young (46) of Keenes, Il. was booked into the Wayne County Jail pending a detention hearing.

- Possession of Methamphetamine
