A Fairfield man was sentenced to 4 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections followed by up to a year of mandatory supervised release Thursday in Wayne County. Special judge Michael Valentine handed down the sentence to 25-year old Jacob Chrtt. Chrtt was originally sentenced to probation for this case, dating back to 2020 for aggravated fleeing and eluding of police. Chrtt will also have to pay court costs of $8052.24
A Sims man pled guilty in Wayne County Court on Thursday on a charge of theft. 20-year-old Gage L. Bittles was sentenced to 2 years of probation by special judge Michael Valentine. Bittles will also be required to pay court costs of $3149. As part of the plea, a burglary charge was dismissed.
