The Illinois Athletic Trainers Association on Tuesday announced their yearly awards on the athletic trainer at Fairfield Community High School is on the list of honorees.
Sarah Turner is the athletic trainer at FCHS and has been at the high school for 8 and a half years. Turner was announced as the Young Professional Award Recipient. She works with Wabash General Hospital based out of Mount Carmel and has been with them for 12 years.
Other awards for this year include Tanya Marquez for induction into the Illinois Athletic Trainer Hall of Fame, Andrea Kovalsky for the the Rich Carey Dedicated Service Award, Christopher Murphy for the Impact Athletic Trainer of the Year, the Special Recognition Award to Albert Maurer, and the Karen Hovorkan Humanitarian Award to Dale Grooms.
All of the athletic trainers mentioned will be honored at the Illinois Athletic Trainers Association meeting in Naperville on June 7th and 8th.
