The CDC has announced the streamlining of COVID-19 guidance for isolation to be in line with all respiratory viruses.

The following are the new guidelines for those with COVID-19:

  • If you are sick, please stay home.
  • Seek testing and treatment (particularly if at high-risk for severe disease).
  • Return to normal activities when symptoms have been improving overall for 24 hours. If fever was present, the individual must be fever free for 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medications.
  • Once you resume normal activities, take precaution for the next five days to curb disease spread, such as: taking more steps for cleaner air, enhancing hygiene practices, wearing a well-fitting mask, and/or keeping a distance from others.
